It's been nearly two years since an obsessive love destroyed not only the lives of three young men, but also those they left behind. Emily Hamilton (Judith O'Dea) tries to cope with not only the loss of her son Elliot (Jerod Howard), but also the guilt of possibly driving him down his obsessive, murderous path. Nancy (Brinke Stevens) is desperate to find the love, friendship and support of a man similar to Corin (Sean Michael Lambrecht). Maggie (Darcey Vanderhoef) desires the companionship of a best friend, Copyright 2006 B+Boy Productionssomeone to be her confidant in the same vein as Jake (Jeff Dylan Graham). And Marti (Tina Ona Paukstelis) has deteriorated into a shell of a human being, harboring a secret so deeply connected to those in Elliot's life that she has had no choice but to run from it for the last two years.

Enter Eli (Sacha Sacket) and George (Lloyd Pedersen), two men who have become a part of these women's lives, and who hold the keys to saving them from their misery...or perhaps creating it. The men have a shared secret about their own pasts which will force the women to confront their own fears and guilt over the events which have already destroyed them. When the truth comes out, the terror once again begins as each of the women and both men are tossed into scenario after scenario of bloodshed, torture and the ultimate hell of death, mutilation and destruction.
Who is the November Son, and what secrets does his own past hold that will either leave these women saved...or buried six feet under?

I (Jason Paul Collum) had always intended to create a trilogy out of OCTOBER MOON. Before I sat down on my parents old dusty computer in 2001, I had already mapped out the course of three films in the series. It was something I felt an intense passion for, and knew that in order for these characters to properly grow and mature, it would have to be done over the course of several stories.

It was around late October 2005, a month after OCTOBER MOON had officially premiered to the public on the big screen. Reaction from the crowds -- and they were very vocal crowds to boot --was almost 100% positive. People laughed, cried, cheered and screamed out loud during every single screening. (There were about 20 individual shows in all...ence why most of you may have missed them.)
I was certain I had a major hit on my hands...aybe not in the theatrical market (it's simply too expensive to do it independently and many theaters were turning us down either because of the "gay" angle or because projecting digitally, especially in the mid-west, is still a rarity), but I was certain the word of mouth would carry it easily into excellent DVD sales. So I began developing the actual storyline for NOVEMBER SON (how it was originally titled, to be honest.  Calling it OCTOBER MOON 2 NOVEMBER SON occurred months later).

My first step was to find my male lead. This is how I typically work. Find an actor and write the part for him...just don't let him (or her) know that's what I'm doing. I had done it for Jerod Howard, Jeff Dylan Graham, Judith O'Dea and Brinke Stevens on the first film. Sean Michael Lambrecht had been the only exception as my original choice, Christopher D. Harder, had to turn down the offer. Anyway, I had discovered musician Sacha Sacket when we both appeared in the now-defunct gay lifestyle magazine SCENE. I checked out his site, LOVED LOVED LOVED his sophomore CD "Shadowed," and wound up licensing his song "The Prodigal" for the closing theme song to OCTOBER MOON. Now that it was time to find a new lead for the sequel, and sporting the idea I wanted said lead to have musical talent for a sequence in the new film, I decided to scout Mr. Sacket myself.

By chance, he was on a tour that fall in Illinois and I drove to meet him. I believe anyone who can hold themselves live on stage in front of an audience can also hold themselves in front of a camera. Sacha gave one hell of a show, and as we sat chatting afterwards, me still never having mentioned my reason for being there, he offered up his studies in drama at UCLA. A light bulb shone over my head and from that point forward I knew exactly who the new lead character of "Eli" would be. I went to work (Sacha still not knowing my plans). Mwah hahahCopyright 2006 B+Boy Productionsaha....

Then, over the next several months I experienced something I hadn't anticipated... writers block. I have to say...it's a major bitch. On top of that my father passed away on March 1, 2006, followed by my Grandmother on June 7th. I had the money in place from Executive Producers Wendell Perkins, Mark O'Meara and Michael John Isaacson. However, it had indeed gone from October 2005 to June 2006 and I still didn't have a completed screenplay. I had bits and pieces of scenes. The majority of my original cast was returning to their roles. I had already mapped out the film in my head years earlier. Yet I just struggled.

Adding water to the embers in my brain came something I hadn't expected at all... haters of OCTOBER MOON. The DVD had come out on February 14, 2006 and did very well. Sell thru wasn't phenomenal, but it was renting like mad! I started getting tons of fan letters, wonderful words of thanks and inspiration. Then I started getting hate mail, and reading negative comment after negative comment on places like Netflix and imdb.com. It was this extremely bizarre backlash to all the earlier positives, and I completely let it rule my brain. At some point, I realized this was a major part of my writer's block. I had been trying to develop a sequel to appease the people who hated OCTOBER MOON. I wanted so desperately for them to like this film, that I forgot who I was supposed to be writing for...the fans! Those same people who had been in the theaters with me, and who had almost kind of stalked me at times regarding their joy in connecting with everything OM was meant to be. Suddenly, knowing I needed to turn my focus back towards them, the writer's block literally vanished overnight. I whipped out an all new story in a matter of days, and nervously sent it off to my cast and crew. Their response? They were "blown away." (Let's hope the fans are too.)

So now here we are in the midst of NOVEMBER SON. Like before: Horrendously long days (15 - 17 hours), bad meals (lots of McDonalds and Arbys), many real wounds on actors (Sacha -- who thankfully, yet foolishly, agreed to delve head first into the world of guerilla filmmaking...Mwah hahahahaha...he was the second to get wounded by bruising his legs, hip and arm from repeated full-force contact with wood palates), and asking them all to do crazy stunts like submerging Brinke Stevens in a mucky pond with snapping turtles.. Ah... the things we do for art.

I was blessed to have not only my original actors return, but joining them were Debbie Rochon (TERROR FIRMER), Lloyd Pedersen (UNSOLVED MYSTERIES) who took on the role a mere 10 days before filming began (!), and Robyn Griggs (ONE LIFE TO LIVE) and Super D.P. Jason Satterfield, who had directed me as an actor in his film THE LEGEND TRIP the previous year. I wore everyone out, yet they all kept the complaints behind my back...and I thank them all for that. There's still more work to be done before this bad boy hits theaters (?) DVD (?), television (?) sometime in 2007, but I know that no matter how many more scrapes and bruises, long nights and crappy meals I force on them all, they'll be right by my side....God Bless 'em all for their enthusiasm, trust and...well, lack of knowing any better.
